Unity : the quality of  wholeness,  it is achieve by using similar, shapes or sizes, and colors.  
Variety : A design concerned with diversity or contrast, it is achieve by using different shapes sizes, and colors.

Example of Balance :




This picture has a symmetrical balance because  of the identical placement and it is very similar in the look, the eyes of the owl contribute the mood of a hunter, it is stable.

This picture is asymmetrical balance because of the uneven spaces and a suggestion of movement, it contribute the mood of tension and it is dynamic.



This picture is radial balance because it is around central point, the feeling of  it is unity and brings attraction, it also has a spiral effect.

I used the monochromatic scheme to to represent the mysterious and strange feeling you get of the painting by using the tints and shades of violet.

Definition : 

Color is element of art that is produced when light, striking object, is reflected back to eye. There are three properties to color that is the red, yellow and blue hue. The second property is intensity, which refers to the vividness of the color.
