Exercise 2 - Elements of Design - Lines

3. Lines in Art

Exercise 2 - Elements of Design - Lines

2. Lines in Photography :

The lines in the picture are vertical and diagonal .
vertical lines are strong and rigid , as they also accentuate height and lack of movements which the trees represent that and it is an actual line. Also they stretch from the earth to the sky.
And the diagonal means their is movement as the river seems to be moving and it is an implied line.
The lines in this picture are actual horizontal lines and actual cured lines.
Which the horizontal lines look like lying down , calm and comfort , also they are associated with earth bound things and ideas. As the bridge  represent that .
And curved lines express fluid movements which depends on how much they curve appearing to be calm or dynamic. The less curve the calmer the feeling and the lines in it appears to be peaceful.
